comment : An amusing personality test that we have discovered last summer in our local pub. You have to cover the filled ashtray - a coffee saucer is enough - shake, and then stand up. This person has to find out now, to what end they themselves sees. For example, in the middle of the aspiring, or rather the bottom left of the victim. Then the others are saying about where they see the person. It's amazing what a few cigarette butts all can bring to the table, test it yourself! This game is not for beginners communicating, but for Non smoking - assuming it is some smokers are at the table - to be viable.

The ashtray has in the past half century, certainly experienced a lot. Also, I connect with him nice and not so good memories. Unfortunately, he has over the decades lost some of its luster, even with the most modern cleaning agents not walk away the dark spots ...

The revenge?
Armstrong's future includes NYC Marathon return
NEW YORK, Nov 21 (Reuters) - Lance Armstrong is mulling over his future yet the seven-times Tour de France champion has settled on at least one challenge for next year -- he will return for another crack at the New York City Marathon.
Armstrong is resisting offers of acting work and a possible urge to enter the political arena to concentrate on being retired but the American, who described his maiden marathon earlier this month as "the hardest thing I've ever done", has already decided to run the 26.2-mile (42.16-km) race again.
"I'm going back next year; I've decided I'm going back," the 35-year-old cycling great told Reuters in a recent telephone interview from his hometown of Austin, Texas, after opening the seventh 24-hour fitness centre to bear his name.
Armstrong has not run at all since the marathon, where he raised $600,000 for his foundation and cancer research and met a personal goal of finishing under three hours with a time of 2 hours 59 minutes 36 seconds.
"I'm still shaking it off. I'm still limping," said Armstrong, who is bothered by shin splints.

Comment: My ashtrays are in the wild, the vagaries of wind and weather conditions on my balcony. I do it almost never empty, except when they overflow. Every now and then is also Elife back and pours the ashes of addiction in the toilet. They are guarded by a mosquito Kampfsau candle, all alone on an old table that we have acquired many years ago in the Ikea sale. Which now serves only as an addiction or accessory. When I get on the willingness to think and deal with more willing to force the inner addiction to something that is not there? Meanwhile, the ashtray is still in use, fits the image.

Remeron And Metallic Sensation Or Smell Or Taste
Since race
"Weery goodd, weery goodd!" Said Paul Tergat with his trademark grin from him. I had allowed myself to him and two of his associates vorbeizujoggen (average of 6 per km) when he eintrabte (7-series average) for the big race, and his "I am passing Paul Tergat," call out.
This whole "sub-elite" story was a great thing. Not only that I was allowed to warm surfaces unworthy me on the same strip of asphalt as Tergat, Baldini and Keflezighi (the latter stared myself forcefully , it could only "What makes the thickness here?" mean). No, it was just great to have to hang not four hours before the start on a cold meadow.
Even the bus ride with the "first losers" was an event for themselves. Andrew sat next to me in Michigan, which would have a field of 2:31 Chicago topped 05 you. A nice boy, convinced his girlfriend to Mitrennen because she lives in NY. No, he really was not a fan of such mass events.
latest, the second view was that the entire bus was one big freak show. Front right sat a runner whose neck I could've easily with one hand include (but do not want the whole thing looked appetizing not). If long-distance race, the lords of creation, not necessarily just makes nice, so that requires the ladies have a very "special" taste.
Precisely the runner began to tremble after some time. It looked like a mixture of freezing and Vorstartnervositaet. But when the front soon aufbrandete the discussion about how "women" is because now most draining, in view of the fact that the bus still take would for a while and the bus driver was reluctant to stop on the highway, it was clear what it was about the girl . Held before the towel should cover the inconvenience, a bag disposed of the same. I will spare details, the floor of the bus did not, unfortunately, to utter spared. Since there are the gentlemen, in this case my neighbor Andrew, much easier, if they have a bottle with him. After then also the second lady, began to sweat in front of me to skew heavily seated, we were all already experts. And I mean bag & go. Oh well, I knew that the thing for which was good.
On Startgelaende we were led into a small house, probably a bar Army or something, where we could make ourselves comfortable with bagel and Gatorade. went 20 minutes before the start it gruppo tutto in the field past the tip of it and we could feel us like rock stars, who are led along the crowded masses to stage. Our stage was the Verazzanos Bridge, from where there are had great view of the starting field. We "first loser" started on the left side and had it about 200m ahead of the elite field. This is similar to the 8 miles by two small extra loops, only the courses together really.
As the peak at Mile 1 was the guys I had already been obtained. On the bridge the road is separated by a waist-high concrete wall. It was of course to be allowed to stand an impressive sight from the barrel rockets. And the "left standing" you can take virtually verbatim.
Kuehl it was, but since almost no wind, from the feeling not as cold as the previous day. A sleeveless undershirt plus singlet and disposable gloves should be fine.
After the preparation was downright perfect to three weeks before the race, she won by a cold and Wadenverhaertung an unpleasant shock. But I just felt good on race day, so I wanted to try to attack Top100 least. This had served in recent years, about 2:41. In a 6-section (per mile) I started then on the way to Manhattan. And Lance Armstrong? After he had recently complained about shin splints and had a 3-hour pace team at his side, I lost no more thought to it.
left at Niketown the day before I have my shirt printed with my first name, which did so almost every participant. My colleagues from Luxembourg, with which I ran for a long and not let his name imprinted, I asked after a while his name.
"Claude. And as you say, I do not ask yes I had brought a few thousand fans;.)
18 was the 6 miles up the section, a feasible thing, but then simply no more. The transaction had Nasennebenhoehlen, but it was bearable and the calf remained well behaved. Only the legs were just after. So I dragged myself the next 6 miles in the high average over the slopes. Classic break-in. That something is then especially on the bumpy course toward Central Park and less great, one can imagine. In the last few kilometers I could let it down in fear for my calf then no longer work, which in view allegmeinen the situation but was not a real loss. The goal is then combined with the usual Gestakse "dizzy ness". But even here, the hard-working "sub-elite" helpers not far away, brought clothes and tea, so it soon went up again. "Carried away" we were finally in a luxury bus in which I nearly fell asleep. I was not sure if it was an emerging weakness rather not and kept me awake so desperately, I had that day but before two things: 1 McDonald's, 2 Dublin plane to catch.
And Lance of A? The tormented just under three hours to finish and gave notice of its preparation geschludert actually so or they are not taken seriously, as he had always believed. Originally, he had ambitions
have to sub 2:30, but now ... If he would train hard for it, then he could perhaps make it. But then he is indeed still twenty minutes behind the first.
revenge Lance? You're welcome.

Shin Splints
Since my last long run two weeks ago, about 25km I am suffering from shin splits. Because of that, I had more change on the wheel, instead of running. Yesterday I was still min for 45th in Central Park on the road and have subsequently enjoyed an ice treatment. Under three hours is the goal, but the main thing to arrive at all ...
This is not the latest feedback from my disability, but are LA's statements of yesterday afternoon, we believe it or not. Wade is playing with my great, that I can hardly believe. How do they tolerate the marathon, of course, still remains to be seen, this is a different matter. Do more to me to make my Nebenhoehlen, so it is certainly not a picnic tomorrow.
it is still very cold, with temperatures just above zero and an icy wind that makes the whole thing quite unpleasant. Tomorrow it will start at around four and two hours later about eight degrees. That's what!
I hope soon to be able to provide feedback on a race, but I have next week my first week with the employer in Dublin, so I apologize in advance for any delays.
Go hard or go home

"The 48-year-old Salazar will run the first 10 miles of the race with Armstrong. The 49-year-old Samuelson, who won the first Olympic women's marathon at the 1984 Los Angeles Games, will run the next 10th El Guerrouj will then do 6 miles with Armstrong, who will be on his own for the final stretch of the 26.2-mile race.
The three will try to keep Armstrong, who ran triathlons as a teenager but has never attempted a marathon, . to a 7-minute-per-mile pace "

cold
matter the Cold here today - 2 degrees, but the most beautiful sunshine. The next days it will remain fresh but sunny. Quasi-ideal marathon weather also. There must stop an undershirt and vll her gloves and hat.
The 5 * 3 min. at marathon pace (Central Park - where else), my calf survived, but the rest of the body was not very convinced. Jetlag and especially the remains of a Nebenhoehlenentzuendung but I do create. Still, NY is a blast, the city of Poser. No more posing was on 9 / 11 - now I'm close to Ground Zero. 'll Have look in on the hard-working bankers and watch the City to me.

After three hectic days of the Exodus in the preparations for Basel and Dublin, I am reasonably healthy landed in NY. Back it goes so well already Sunday evening, right after the race, right out of Dublin.

Cruzifictions
"You know I go into it blindly. I do not know, except for what I've heard about the New York City Marathon and just the sheer numbers - in terms of participation and the ways that the different communities get involved in the race - I don't know much, I've never done a marathon. I don't know what it's like to run anything more than 14 or 15 miles, but you start to hear stories about - again the ways the different neighbourhoods and the communities really step up and every corner has a band on it. You have 26 miles of constant cheering and applause for the runners. Hopefully in the last half of the race that will get me through." LA
Zum ersten Mal in meinem Sportlerleben geniesse ich nun Physiotherapie. Bislang habe ich Verletzungen schlicht ausgesessen, aber der jetzige Zeitpunkt brachte mich zum Handeln. runs the following way: The Physio pierced his thumb with full force on the knot in the muscle and starts for some time with transverse motions. As I bit after the third (from 20 ..) repeats in its Massagbank, he offered me a Beissholz to protect the good bank.
After two treatments I now sum up: I see a 50% chance that I get through the marathon properly. Sorry, not more and no less.

Mild Alcohol Poisoning How Do You Know
The calf
Last week, in a loose Läufchen, they began the calf. Only slightly, nothing bad, but something unprecedented.
Today, a week later, she is "too", the calf. Harden well. Unfortunately, no phantom pain (or fortunately, because the calf is - clearly visible - still connected). Right before the marathon course extrem Sch****. Doch ich bleibe optimistisch, habe ich doch noch 10 Tage bis zum grossen Rennen. I keep you posted.

How Can I Make My United Mileage Not Expire?
Sub Elite
Selected Athletes:
Congratulations. You qualify as one of the top competitive runners in
the ING New York City Marathon 2006. At New York Road Runners, we
celebrate and applaud competitive runners like you. We stand in
admiration and support of you and want to ensure your marathon
experience is fantastic and as stress-free as possible.
As part of our support of competitive runners, in 2004 we established
the Sub-Elite Initiative, a unique program designed to give special
benefits to men likely to run between 2:20 and 2:35. Based on the
success of that program, last year we extended the sub-elite group to
include women in the 2:55-3:05 range. We are pleased to invite you to
participate in this year's Sub-Elite program.
As participants in the Sub-Elite program, we will provide you with the
following benefits:
1. Special transportation to the start as part of our pro athlete
caravan
2. A special staging and warm-up area at the start, away from most of
the other 37,000 participants
3. A completely clear starting position at the front of the race
4. Special baggage handling and transport from the start to the finish
5. Expedited baggage pickup at the finish
Here are the details of your program. Please print this e-mail and bring
with you to New York.
1. Pick up your race number and ChampionChip timing device at the ING
New York City Marathon Health and Fitness Expo as usual, with the
exception of Jennifer Denkins, Jon Clemens, Julia Stamps, and John
Traugott, whose numbers will be at the Hilton Hotel and Towers, 1335
Avenue of the Americas (between 53rd and 54th Streets) in room 4449.
(For more information on the ING New York City Marathon Health and
Fitness Expo, please visit
http://www.ingnycmarathon.org/entrantinfo/expo.php). There will be no
special stickers or markers on your bib.
2. On Race Day, Sunday, November 5, beginning at 6:30 a.m., a caravan of
six buses will be parked on 54th Street between Fifth Avenue and Avenue
of the Americas (Sixth Ave), across the street from the Hilton Hotel and
Towers (In case of inclement weather, meet in the lobby of the Hilton).
Go to the last two buses (marked "Sub-Elite") in the caravan, where a
race volunteer will check you off of our list. Bring everything you need
to run the race, including the clear bag given to you at the Expo. THE
ONLY BAGS ALLOWED ON THE BUS WILL BE THE CLEAR BAGS.
3. Before you board the bus, the volunteer will place a special colored
sticker on your race number. This sticker will allow you access to the
sub-elite baggage area near the finish line. Make sure you get this
sticker.
4. The buses will depart promptly at 7:15 a.m. for the start. If you are
not on the bus at this time, it will leave without you. YOU MUST BE ON
THESE BUSES TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE SUB-ELITE STARTING CORRAL.
5. The buses will travel with a police escort in our special pro athlete
caravan, and arrive at Fort Wadsworth at approximately 8:00 a.m. When
you leave your bus, turn left into the parking lot and you will see a
tent and staging area reserved for you. Volunteers will be on hand to
direct you to the right place. Water and Gatorade will be available.
6. At approximately 9:30 a.m., your bags will be collected and placed in
a special ConEdison baggage van so that they can be brought to the
finish line. DO NOT PUT YOUR BAGS IN ANY VAN OTHER THAN THE SPECIAL CON
EDISON VAN. You should now be dressed to run, except for a warm shirt
you can throw away.
7. At 9:45 a.m., be prepared to leave the staging area for the walk to
the start line. Race staff will walk you as a group up on the bridge for
the start. You must stay in this group.
8. When you get on the bridge, race staff will lead you over the center
barrier where you will be placed at the front of the Orange Start, just
ahead of the 3000 fastest recreational women runners. There is a small
amount of space for you to continue jogging and do your final strides.
9. By 10:03 you must be behind the ChampionChip mats on the Orange
Start.
10. At 10:08, the start cannon will fire and you will be running the
race.
11. When you arrive a the finish line in Central Park, please follow the
signs and volunteer directions for "Pro Athlete Reunion," shortly past
the finish line to your left. The sticker on your race number will allow
you in this reserved area to get your bag. There will be water,
Gatorade, and blankets on hand if you need them.
12. When ready, exit Sub-Elite Reunion and make your way out of the
park.

Capacity: more than enough
In my possession just wanted to come with me ... the ashtray

Comment: I'm a fan of simple design. The practical ashtray made of aluminum (robust!) with large capacity and marked "PTT" has done it with the same. As to his rightful place still the same model was available, I have decided to offer the ashtray for a new home. I'm sure it's him on the balcony like a lot better than the ugly smoking.

Kudos to Kona
My respect on this day passes to all those who can not stop, all the late thirties, who have no desire to make the youth court. But the youth let himself yesterday, not lumpy and did not ask for long. Even when apparently the 30 has to be, forward mitzumischen impressed this 25 year old Me:

Sure, he is a student, has no family and thus time en masse. Who but a closer look, discovering the special feature. be completed in a field in which successful careers, he's just beginning. With a sensational run. Many youngsters can swim and / or cycling. But for the lack of experience and drive aggressively. This is so important in Kona area is the old Dave Scott, Allen and Co. to leave. But Max has obviously already out. Respect!
Once a year I will be sad, even yesterday, it was way again. As much as I would finish an Kona with a strong run. Without stomach problems, right on exhausting the muscle borders. 3:05 or something like that, cycling to moderate swimming (not in the mood for training) and controlled. Fraesen race and the field. Next year I will be 33 on the day of the IM Hawaii. Too old, already one of those who "can not stop"? Not yet? So slot lottery? Rather Utopian.

phantom pain
"Expect the unexpected" would say the Ami and so I got myself this week of a runny nose and a Wade hardened enjoy. Instead of refining the remoteness of the village in Ticino, light jogging was announced. Towards the end of the week I was able to take advantage of the niegelnagelneue Kunstoffbahn at least for a few improvements. Now, if already begun the last week before the marathon would be so one could easily dismiss jedwege ailments as phantom pain. Speaking Kunstoffbahn in Ticino. A truly noble part! Never (!) I'm running on such a great track. Soft, fast and with little rain wet. Ok, only four lanes because of the lack of space in the hilly-mountainous terrain. But that's enough indeed. And next to the latest Prunkstueck: a 50-meter swimming pool with geleinten tracks. THE new training tip for avid triathlete (Pfingsten!).
And NY? Lance still claims never longer than 13 miles to be run. But he did before this weekend, a 20-mile, even though the right just before the marathon. His goal is still SUB 3. What we would like to call
Schumi: "Adieu!" Or "chin up, it goes on!"

birthdays like to go past times unpleasant. So yesterday happened when I had a nasty day drudgery. Well, that may Pasi. But at least I came to do in the lunch break Laeufchen. Nothing spectacular, as it is at its Birthday would have liked. Just a casual "one hour", unfortunately paired with latent hypoglycemia. As I slowly through the forest France is approaching, I knew that something must. This stream is so simple should not pass uneventfully. Here so long I no longer am. So I crossed the green line on the dirt road, stopped and "marked" the terrain. Once this was done, I returned to my still-country back.
One might think I have anything against France. But no, which is not Sun Well, I had lousy experiences made with the French. But such, I did the same with Swiss, German or whatever (only to Cambodians I can say for the time being nothing - chapeau!).
No, I like France and wanted him to temporary leave but still give something. Sebastian said though, it would have been truly spectacular, from the home country to masturbate over the border. No, first, Pooh, that's not one second, just the thing with the low blood sugar. News

3:12 - the second
Who would have thought it? New running mate, old time. It was perfect! In Cologne, I was 3:12 at the marathon distance move. This time with Jens, an old Trainingskumpanen from other times. That was for him not best time, but first and second, not far from the optimum of, what he could expect. For although he had completed enough long runs, but lacked the intense stuff there. His goal was a smoother run, which left forgotten until now in marathons ever held implosion of sub-3 trials. This is then compared with time-identical halves also succeeded in fully legal. Vll and is waiting on him also a sub-3 marathon around the corner.
Cologne or Berlin? Yes! :)

Who Broke A Bat Over Their Knee?
The Mile
"I'd be elated with something close to 2:45," he says. (Maybe that has something to do with the fact that former cycling pro Laurent Jalabert ran the marathon in 2:55 last year?)
Armstrong says he can maintain a six-minute mile pace on shorter runs, and he figures that at about seven-minute miles he can finish the marathon in just more than three hours. "That's in the top 200 or 300 guys," he says.
(...)
The last time he ran a timed mile, he says, was a couple of years ago, when he and former fiancee Sheryl Crow were visiting her hometown in Missouri. They went to the high school track, and while Crow ran stairs, he ran a mile in a cold rain. He clocked it at 5:13.
"But I was a professional athlete then," he says. "I didn't drink margaritas every night, either."
On Thursday, it didn't take much to persuade him to try a timed mile again, this time on the quarter-mile Austin High oval track.
"Let's take bets — how fast can I do a mile?" he asks, shucking off a sweaty black T-shirt. When five minutes is suggested, he takes the challenge.
At first, it doesn't look like he's going that fast. His gait is a little stiff, his chest forward. To hit five minutes, he can't take more than 75 seconds per lap. He glances at his watch as he makes the first of four laps. "Seventy-three seconds!" he shouts as he rounds the bend. He notches 72 seconds on the second lap, and 73 on the last two, according to his watch.
His total time: 4:51."

Long Run
I am often asked how long the long endurance in preparing for a marathon will actually be because of how many you should complete it and how often such may be on the program. As a lawyer I am, of course inclined to respond with an "it depends". When one here but the unfortunate Marathonschlurfer (target: Arrive) excludes, focusing on runners who actually run, are therefore clearly go under four hours, can the prevailing opinion summarized as follows:
The long run should be 35 km long and every 7-14 days to complete at least three month period made.
best there so far. Often the question is "rich and 30km". This provokes in me like the counter-question "why, you're too lazy?". If there is no valid reason for a reduction in the distance, you should run the 35km, from Km 30 because it is the first marathon so funny. And that you should be well prepared.
Why then not equal 42 or more miles? Absolutely! When I became a scheduled 35-thanks to the estimated distance of my running partner for a 40 and after the Berlin Marathon I will also benefit the Cologne Marathon as a training run for NY. I have also seen a number of training plans that recommend courses to 50km. Bring the
something or hurt the sooner? Who km large sizes or not for lack of life not tolerate km which can make it out. A real physiological benefit can be expected beyond the 35km little more. Only mentally still longer distances should be helpful because they often at least subliminal fear weaken existing before the distance.
I use marathons as "long runs" simply because it is very entertaining, travel the long runs, accompanied by interesting cities. In addition I have enough food, the kind of solid and liquid generally border as the ideal length of 35km 7km deemed likely to bring no additional effect on the damage they do to me well-trained state, however, just as wrong. It should be remembered here that I have a loose MUCH Marathon in just over three hours behind me. 3:30 He who belongs to the Group, who should probably keep the hand by a 42mm training run, because that would loosely completed last more than four hours and would probably be too demanding.
triathletes often argue that they train the endurance on the bike, so do not need long runs. That is, in terms of the cardiovascular system entirely proper. But beyond the 2:20 runners are fighting at the end of a marathon with more muscular limits, as the lack of air or racing pulse. Also a triathlete needs, therefore, the long runs to prepare for his running-specific muscles to the end of a marathon.
For my taste, you should complete the long run in the marathon week. Two weeks before the marathon can be like then reduced to 30km, it should but then undergo a progressive course that ends in the marathon goal pace (plus leakage). A week before the marathon, a 25-sufficient after the same scheme.
Shanghai Rummy Card Game
Morat - Fribourg
the second time I found myself at a Swiss run in the elite field again. This was due to my reporting time for the 73rd (!) Playing of Morat-Fribourg. I thought 17.1 km but probably complete in under 1:02 you to - that's the magic there - and was promptly provided with a race number, which bore my name rather than a number. Totally embarrassed, while I ultimately do not, but I have not reckoned with the host "mountain". Was flat in this run really nothing, and Fribourg is also some altitude of Murten. To one and a half minutes I have them in the destination wait for me (is that possible? Or do I say "goht no!"). I could sometimes easy breezy onto the pouring rain, running shoes heavy and also top runners such as Wyatt Röthlin or slowed. And I could say I was at least in the top 100, which are also considered "elite". Distinction was withheld at this point the number of non-registered before as an elite runner to me.
It can rotate or turn as you like, I had my fun! And not least because Dali me not only on the run, but even during the run accompanied - wow! Although it took until I got into gear, but then rolled it properly above all 'the hills. A recommended experience, this Läufchen 8,000 + runners. More than 53 CHF reporting costs (including registering late train trip) I have to complain not only because I, as a grafter for one of the sponsors was included free of charge.
The last word is now "Batcher" from the letsrun.com Forum, the question arises regarding LA:
"Will he need three English domestiques to help pull him up the hills [of NY Marathon]?"

How Much Is A 7 1/4 Mm Pearl Worth?
peaking
It is fast approaching on final's. And so it will look rough:
morning, with Morat-Fribourg, a Swiss classic about a good 17 miles on the program very wavy. Because full throttle is announced. So that the whole more than is good marathon, I will run for an hour in advance loose. Included is Dali, my protege in terms of Ironman. He gets there, the Kona-polish.
Next weekend I tingle to Cologne at the local Marathon again to scrub kilometers. Whether comfortably again, like last week in Berlin or in the 3:45 min / km marathon pace and premature exit, I decide later. The last few weeks are once again long intervals in the 3:30 pace it with short breaks and long runs at marathon pace tempo on the plan.
And this was the last, from Monatg rather quiet week in Detail:
23.9. 65 '(16k), 45' TDL
24.9. 195 '(42k)
25.9. Pause
26.9. 45' K
27.9. 65' (14k); 45' K
28.9. 65' (14k); 45' K
29.9. 60' (13k)
30.9. 85' (19k); 45' K

Time Warner Phone Modem Hook-up Myself
Mandalay, workaholic
location: definitely NOT in my fridge
origin: a Bavarian restaurant in the district of Lehel (Munich)
Brand: Lucky Strike
material: glass capacity
: each 10
in my possession since : July 2006
Price: free (as always)
Comment: The perfect ashtray for a romantic "tête-à-tête ... separately and yet together! Since I basically do not buy ashtrays, is this copy of my extensive collection (approximately 50), stolen (hope that I will not be sentenced for theft 50 times). The risk of a conviction However, increases with the number of ashtrays, I put on the Internet. But since I have a damn good lawyer, I'm not too worried. I guess that I was not at the time of the theft of this ashtray was sane, I have acted under duress, so to speak ... Finally, I would like to mention that any similarities of the ashtray with the female anatomy are purely coincidental ...

Mucus Came Out Of My Nose
Today's chat: Lance Armstrong
Runner's World Daily: You're about six weeks away from the marathon. How's training going?
Lance Armstong: Yeah, it's going pretty well. The hardest part has been the pounding of running. Literally years of no running and then running again regularly, it's been a little harder on my body than I thought. I've had a lot of aches and pains, especially in my hips and joints. Running is an impact sport, certainly as opposed to cycling. The biggest problem I had was with my left hip flexor and that has cleared up.
(...)
RWD: Are you following a specific training plan for the New York City Marathon?
LA: Chris (Carmichael) and I have talked about it, but it's not very organized. It's very low-key, partially because my schedule is all over the place. I do a lot of things to stay in shape. I kayak, I swim, I ride, I go to the gym. I swim more now than I have in the last 15 years or more. I would be miserable if I didn't work out every day. And people around me would be even more miserable. I got used to that therapy for the last 25 years. And if you take that away, you take away that therapy.
RWD: What kind of running have you been doing?
LA: I have a very low-key approach to the marathon. Lately I've been running 45 to 60 minutes. Usually it's about five to ten miles. On Tuesday, I ran seven miles in Central Park. My longest run so far is 13 miles, so it would probably be a good idea to get some longer runs in. You can tell my training isn't very scientific about this. Most of the time I'm running with people and we're talking about business or life and my scheduling.
(...)
RWD: Is there any truth to the notion that you might get into triathlons again?
LA: I would never rule out doing a triathlon, but I wouldn't do it as a pro. If I did it, it would be the same approach as I'm taking for the marathon. If I finished New York City in three hours, that's fine, and if I finished an Olympic-distance triathlon in 2:30 or something like that, and I'd be happy. I'd do it just to finish it. People have a hard time believing that. People have always believed I would come back to it. But to do something like (the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii), that would require full-time dedication and full-time training and I could pretty much definitely say never to that.

More Sensitive On Your Period
3:12!
At the Berlin Marathon, I had buddies in the direction of a displayed towards new personal best a nice job. So I was able to explore not only the atmosphere and ground with a view to Bestzeitenangriff in the future, but I also still be useful. Almost the project would still be wrong on the meeting point failed, but I had Hans-Jörg start documents with them (my plane landed just before 23h on Saturday). But a blessing in disguise made sure that we 30 min. before the departure, both as a last resort, the meeting place for after the race - Germany flag in front of the Reichstag - visited. A little hustle was then necessary, but we were ready to start on.
My job, Hans-Jörg was a sub-3: guide to 15th He started four years ago with running and soon landed at 3:29. But that it was not enough at some point. In the training could not stop it, to refer to the "Steffny-3 :15-Plan" for two weeks charged. Our goal was to complete the whole course in 4:30-36. Km 1 did the same a 4:30 on the clock and I guide him on through the sunny and raging Berlin. At the aid stations I filled his water bottle and ran after this and bananas in his hand. Hans-Jörg had only one job: working! And it worked excellent. I had my intermediate sprints and was busy over.
at km 10 I spoke to a runner with the name unknown to me. I was surely wrong here, New York, but has yet to come! My cover is busted? Am I Achim Achilles, Lothar Leder, Herbert Steffny or even Angela Merkel? And who the headless fellow in the photo above right?
It was a superb, Hans-Jörg see flying by on the last kilometers of well trained, tanned fellow travelers. All went right, Hans-Jörg "beamed" simple death-defying pass on the left side, gutierte my sayings ("victims, only victims, not prisoners") and enjoyed the cool water, which I told him while running from the bottle over the head poured . And in the end? 3:12! The second half just shake and a half slower than the first.
And of course he announced prior to the course when reaching "Sub 3:15" the end of his marathon ambitions. What was in his mail yesterday? 2:59.
Berlin is fast, very fast, that convinced me. Could be a place for about a severe 2:30 he to dream time. The only catch: the beautiful Radel months of July and August fell prey to the barrel. So it Chicago?
